Thursday we spent the whole day in the car. It actually went pretty fast for a 13 hour drive. It is only suppose to take 11 hours but with two kids it took a little longer. Besides the much needed stops, we did stop for a little fun at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
When we finally got settled in the hotel it was about 10pm and we were tired.
Friday we woke up, got ready for the day, and decided to go see Todd's cousins. The girls were all getting ready and it was fun to catch up.
Saturday we had decided we were going to go to San Francisco, but we were unsure of exactly what we were going to do. I wanted to eat at Fisherman's Wharf and AJ wanted to see the sea lions. So even though I was very hungry, I was a good mom and let Andrew go see the Sea Lions first.
We decided that we would go to Pier 39 and walk around,
(I was even nice enough to let Andrew eat a sucker before lunch)
go to the aquarium,

and eat at Fisherman's Wharf.
It was a fun day. Todd's mom came with us, and his cousin Hannah and her boyfriend met up with us in the evening. It was another late night and we finished it off with a little cake and cousins back at the hotel. It was definitely a nice visit.
Sunday we just got up and headed out. We were planning to drive all the way but ended up staying in Winemucca, Nevada. It was definately a needed stop. The kids had fun on the road trip too. Andrew wanted to hold Rory while we were stopped once.
And Rory decided that it was her turn to drive the van. Todd let her take over--he was done driving for the day.
It was nice too after the kids were in bed (on time), we played games and ate dinner with Todd's mom, aunt, and grandma.
Then Monday we finished the drive and were home in 6 hours. By the kid's bedtime we had already started laundry, unpacked, and could relax. It was a quick trip, but a fun and much needed one.
