We all had a fun 4th of July weekend here in AZ. On Saturday morning Andrew, Meemaw and I went to see Toy Story 3 (see below post), so Rory and Todd had some Daddy-Daughter time. Theye just played and ran some errands. Saturday afternoon we went to the park for a little while. When we were all too hot to keep playing, we came back and went swimming in Meemaw's pool and relaxed.
On Sunday Meemaw gave the kids their traditional holiday movie. She gave them "Meet the Robinsons." We watched it in the morning and then we got ready to go to church.
The kids only lasted through Sacrament Meeting, then we came home to give them naps. We had some yummy bbq hamburgers for dinner. It was quite interesting to see how Rory and Andrew eat their hamburgers.

After dinner we went to check out the festivities at the high school in Apache Junction. It was very crowded and didn't look like they had a ton of interesting stuff. So we decided to go play at the park until dark and then watch the fireworks from there. We all had a lot of fun at the park.

The kids were all over the place. Rory even decided to be a puppy for a while.
It was a lot more fun to play at the park later in the day when it wasn't so hot. Just before 9:00pm we started seeing test fireworks, so we got our blanket and went to sit on the grass to watch the fireworks. We watched them for about 20 minutes or so before the kids looked beyond exhausted.
On Monday we had decided that we wanted to go to a pool, so we went out to the Aquatic Center on Riggs. We had so much fun! I forgot to bring the camera, so sorry but no pictures. Andrew amazes me sometimes. Ever since he got his life vest, he is unstoppable in the water. He swims all over the place, puts his face in the water, blows bubbles, and he even likes splash wars with mommy and daddy. Rory is a little bit more reserved in the water, even with her life vest on. Her vest is the kind that won't let her flip over onto her face, but she doesn't really like floating on her back. This was the first time that she actually floated in her vest and was happy for a while. Rory got really tired, so she ended up taking a nap while we were at the pool. We were all pretty tired when we got back from the pool, so we made dinner and got the kids to bed. After that Mom and I just relaxed while Todd did a little studying.
It was a fun weekend for all of us!
