Easter

We had a lot of fun surrounding Easter this year.  I bought a book last year that you use the week before Easter.  We did our scripture reading from there and we also did our FHE this past week from there too.  Our kids can tell you all you want to know about the true meaning of Easter.  We also had some traditional type fun too.  Our ward had a breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt yesterday morning.  The food was yummy and the kids loved getting all of the eggs.  It's not much of a hunt when the eggs are just strewn about the lawn, but fun for the kids.
Later in the day we dyed Easter Eggs and the kids and I dyed Easter socks.  Last year I thought it would be fun to dip some white socks in the egg dye when we were done with the eggs.  I guess I started a new tradition because this year the kids wanted to do it too.  We had fun!

Yes, the kids have no shirts on and are wearing aprons--you can never be too cautious around dye.

Today the kids woke up and wanted to find their Easter Baskets, but with 8:00am church, we don't usually have time for anything extra.  So we got everyone ready for church in their new Easter Clothes (that is a whole other story in itself), and went to church.  When we got home I wanted to take pictures outside.
Then we let the kids go inside to find their Easter Baskets. Andrew's was buried under clothes in a laundry basket and Rory's was inside her school backpack.
Andrew really liked his Avengers Bop-it Gloves
And Rory loves her new Minnie Mouse watch.
The rest of the day was spent hanging out at my Mom's house, eating food, and watching the movie she gave to the kids for Easter--"Rise of the Guardians." It's a good flick! All in all it was a good Easter holiday.
