Welcome Home Rory...Again.

After Rory came home from the hospital after she was born, Nicole, Andrew, and I all got sick. We were hoping that Rory would not get sick also, but she did. Nicole and I took her to the after-hours clinic last Sunday night because she would have coughing fits where she would stop breathing. SCARY!!! The doctor wanted us to go to Utah Valley Hospital for a chest x-ray. After Rory got x-rayed we were told that she would be admitted to the pediatric wing. They were worried that she might have pnemonia (sp?) or RSV. After a very long night, we were finally put in a room at about 1:30am. The next day it was confirmed that she had RSV. They had her hooked up to IV fluids so she wouldn't get dehydrated, an ECG monitor, an oxygen saturation monitor to make sure that her oxygen levels stayed up and to an oxygen tank to help her breathe.

We were in the hospital day after day wondering when Rory would be able to go home. We were told that she needed to be off the IV, oxygen, and not being suctioned so often. Her oxygen was the last thing to go on Saturday. So after another week in the hospital we welcomed Rory Elizabeth Gardiner home once again.

Nicole and I want to give a special THANK YOU to my mom, Gayle for helping take care of Andrew for several days, Nicole's aunt Cecille also for helping with Andrew, our friend David Downey who came to the hospital to help me give Rory a blessing, Nicole's mom Barbara for answering the phone in the middle of the night when we had a pretty bad scare with Rory and I didn't hear our phone ring, and all of those people who have been praying for our little girl. An especially BIG THANKS goes to Nicole's sister Trish. She has been a lifesaver since she has been here. She does so well taking care of Andrew, and he loves her so much. With help from Gayle and Cecille, Trish took excellent care of our little Andrew when we could not. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
