On Wednesday the rest of the Merrill family was going to Old Town and Balboa Park. Nicole and I weren't too interested in doing that, so we called our friends Danny and Nici who live in Ocean Side. We decided to meet at Mission Beach Park for a picnic and play. They have a two year old son who we haven't seen since he was about 8 months old. And they obviously had never met Andrew or Rory. We met at the park at 11am, ate lunch, and then just visited and watched Andrew and Jacob play together. It was really good to see them again.
The rest of the afternoon we just lounged around and gave the kids naps, so they would be ready for a late night. When the kids woke up from their naps we headed to La Jolla Cove in San Diego for the family dinner. My mom's cousin Shauna and her family were staying at a nice hotel there and were able to secure some space for us on the top floor balcony of the hotel. We got there a little early so we decided to walk down to the water.

Shortly after my parents and sisters arrived, so they came to see the view
and Julie, Nicole, and I went down to the water again.
A little after six we headed up to the dinner.
For dinner they had Rubios Mexican food. I was a little leary because I don't like TexMex, but it was pretty good food. Even the seagulls liked it.
We visited, tried to keep up with Andrew,
played with Rory,
and watched a beautiful sunset...the view was amazing from five floors up.
We then had a family meeting where they elected the president for the next family reunion. Julianne was nominated, but said she would only do it if Nicole was her co-president. So Julianne and Nicole will be planning the next Merrill Family Reunion for 2011. By the end of the meeting Andrew was tired and ready to go home.
