We went to Colin's birthday party at my parent's house on Thursday, and rather than drive back home to turn around the next morning we stayed at my sister's house in Bountiful. Julie was away at girls camp, and she was very kind to let us use her house. We headed up to Logan Friday morning and let the kids nap in the car. When we got up there the kids were still asleep so we decided to head out to Newton and visit Nicole's grandma. We spent a few hours at Grandma's house. The kids had fun seeing Grandma Great
So Rory was being a booger because she was tired, and she would not sit on Grandma's lap without crying. Nicole sat with them, so she would be in the picture (I kind of caught her in a bad moment).
and walking out in the country. We then headed into Logan and went to our hotel to check in. We stayed at the Crystal Inn again. It is a great hotel and it is in a great location for us to go see Nicole's dad. Friday afternoon we went to Jenson's Books. We had been told about this place by my mom, so we decided to check it out. You walk in and get a grocery bag, then you fill it up, finally you give them $7 for however many books you can fit in the bag. We ended up getting about 30 kid's books. (We are so glad that we did this. Andrew has grabbed the bag of books several times and told Nicole or Me that he wants to read all of them.)We headed over to Jerald's Saturday morning and spent a lot of the day there. We saw all of the animals--we asked Jerald what they have: (let me see if I can remember) 7 dogs (and a litter of puppies), 7 goats, 2 horses, about 20 chickens, 2 turkeys, 3 ducks, 1 goose, 1 rooster, 5 rabbits, 12 cats, 17 birds, "and a partride in a pear tree". Just Kidding!!! Our kids love animals, so as you can imagine they had a good time. My favorite thing about going up to visit Nicole's dad has always been riding the horses. Jerald hadn't riden the horses yet this year, so we had to catch them. It is always fun to try to corner them so we can get the rope on them. We got Cheyenne and took him out into the yard. We then had to brush him, cut his mane, saddle him, bridle him, and hope that he was going to be nice to me. I rode him around for a little bit to make sure that he was going to behave, then the kids took turns riding with me.
It was great! Both of the kids had so much fun riding the horse. Andrew and Cheyenne were funny: it was pretty hot, so Cheyenne kept going into the stable to be in the shade. Andrew asked me what it was, so I told him it was Cheyenne and Cocoa's house. So he kept wanting to go into the horse's house. 
Rory just wanted to keep moving. She kept saying, "Ride, ride, ride." They were both adorable. After riding for a while, my knees, butt, and other things were sore, so I decided to get off. But I guess Rory still wanted to ride. 
We spent some time visiting while the kids played. They had so much fun running up and down the ramp to the front door, and playing with random things that they found on the porch. We took them back to the hotel to take a nap, and I went to find some lunch for Nicole and me. After the kids woke up we headed back over to Jerald's and just played and visited more. We left Jerald's and we were going to head back to the hotel, but decided to go see Spencer and Katie. We ended up visiting for a little while and then went to dinner with them. By the time we were done eating, it was late and our kids were tired. So we went back to the hotel and hit the sack.On Sunday we spent the morning relaxing and getting stuff ready to leave. We checked out and left the hotel around 1pm. We went over to Jerald's and spent the afternoon there. Rusty was feeling pretty good, so she was able to come outside and spend some time with us. The kids and I rode Cheyenne again and we spent a lot of time visting and playing. We ate dinner with them and soon after headed for home.
It was a great trip up to Logan and I had a great Father's Day spending time with my beautiful wife and adorable children.
