My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary back in April. They decided to have a big family "reunion" to celebrate. They had to wait until everyone was available to come into town, so we celebrated their anniversary this past Friday. My mom works at Heritage Garden and my grandparents had her arrange the event there. My aunts & uncles and their families all drove/flew in from Arizona and California. We almost didn't make it because Nicole became very sick last week, but she ended up feeling well enough Friday morning so we headed up to the party. It was great to see everyone. We have seen my cousins from California quite a lot over the last several years. We have seen my cousin Bre several times when we have visited Arizona. But I have not seen my Aunt Heather and cousins James, Ashleen, and Britney in about 13 years. It was really nice to see them again, especially since we will be moving down to Arizona soon and hopefully we will be able to see them more often. 
We took a bunch of family pictures and then went to eat lunch. Lunch was okay; the chicken was definitely better than the pork. After lunch we just hung out, visited, and took some more pictures.
After the luncheon was over most of us went back to my parents house to spend more time visiting, playing, etc. All in all it was a good day--at least until we had to go home. We left my parent's house at about 10:30pm and thanks to freeway construction and insane traffic, we didn't get home until after midnight.
The next day we met several of my cousins and their families at Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country. We spent quite a bit of time there. The kids loved riding the ponies, as usual
and thanks to cousins who didn't care to use their tickets, Rory got to ride the pony twice. A couple of fun new things this time around: we got to help brush some ponies,
we went on the wagon ride (we've been on it before, but usually opt for the pony ride--again thank you cousins), 
we watched a colt eating from its mommy,
and I think I saw more animals pooping than I ever have before. When we were finally done there, we were going to head back to my parent's house, but Nicole and I were starving so we detoured to Winco. They have amazing, inexpensive sandwiches there. The rest of the evening was spent hanging out, talking, playing games, and around 11:30pm or so saying our "Good-byes". It was really great to see everyone again. And it will be cool to live in AZ where we will be closer to family that we haven't been around as much as some of the other family members.
