This was quite an eventful and fun weekend for us. We didn't want to sit at home doing nothing, so we made sure that didn't happen.
Friday:
My mom wanted to take Andrew and Rory to the zoo one last time before her membership pass expired and before we leave in a few months. So we headed north in the morning after Rory's nap, picked up my mom, and went to the zoo. My mom had to get back to her house by 2:00pm to babysit Carolee's kids, so we felt a little bit rushed. It wasn't too bad though, and I think the kids had fun. Here are some of the pics.
After the zoo we went back to my mom's house to eat lunch and give the kids naps. We had talked about climbing Ensign Peak at some point during the weekend, but the weather was being finicky as it often is in Utah. It wasn't too bad, so we were thinking about doing it after the kid's naps. Just after they woke up it started to sprinkle. We decided to go anyway hoping for the best. During the drive from Sandy to SLC it didn't rain at all. As soon as we got up behind the Capital Building it started raining. Nicole told Andrew he should pray that the rain would stop. He did and by the time we parked the rain had stopped. Oh, the faith of a child! We had a lot of fun hiking/walking up Ensign Peak. 
We had borrowed a "baby-back-pack" from our friends and it worked great to carry Rory in.
And Andrew did amzingly well on his own or just holding someone's hand when we made him. 
After the hike we were all quite hungry and decided to go out to dinner. I had been craving Red Robin for like 2 months, so Nicole suggested to my mom that we go there. Don't I have the greatest wife?! Dinner was delicious and a good way to end a fun day.Saturday:
Nicole had learned that they were going to have this big Yard Sale at Pioneer Park in SLC on Saturday. So we got together with our neighbors, Joe and Allie, and headed up to SLC to check it out. The yard sale was not as big as I thought it was going to be, but we did end up getting a couple of things for the kids: Rory got a little fairy that she calls Tinkerbell (even though it's not) and Andrew got some Fisher Price roller skates (the kind you strap to your shoes). I think Andrew favorite part was the bouncey stuff; they had one of those big blow-up slides and a bounce house. All of the kids had a lot of fun on them. Joe's favorite part was the train ride. I can't believe he climbed into one of those cars (I can't believe he fit in one of those cars).
We ate lunch at McDonalds and then headed back down to Orem. The kids fell asleep in the car, and when they do we try to keep driving for as long as possible to keep them asleep. So we decided to drive up around the Draper Temple so Nicole could show me the houses up there that she had seen when she went to Girl's Night last time. WOW! They are huge! Anyway, we got home and were just hanging out when one of the neighbors filled up their little pool. Of course Andrew wanted to get in because all of his friends were also. 
So he went swimming for a little while. Of course Rory wanted to get in, and she tried a couple of times too. 
We then decided to go up the canyon with Joe and Allie. They had reserved a camp site up at Nun's Park, so we went up there with them for a barbecue and S'mores. The kids played on the playground and threw rocks into the river. It was a lot of fun. By the time we were done, the kids were exhausted so we went home and went to bed.

Sunday was pretty relaxing. We weren't sure if we would make it to church because we were all so tired. But we decided to go to Sacrament meeting and then come home to give the kids naps. Andrew insisted that he wanted to go to Nursery and that he wasn't too tired (even though he had practically fallen asleep on my lap in Sacrament meeting). We let him go and he lasted about 10 minutes before they brought him to us in tears. Time for a nap! In the afternoon we went back up the canyon and walked up to Bridal Veil Falls with Joe and Allie. This time I put Andrew in the "baby-back-pack" and we hiked up the falls. 
I kept asking him if he wanted to go back down, or go higher; what do you think his response was each time? "Go higher!" We went up pretty high and then I told him it was time to go back down. This is like a "Where's Waldo" puzzle with Todd and Andrew.
To be honest, going up was easier. Rory got to play in the water a little bit as well. 
And the kids of course had to throw rocks. 
I think it's the new favorite thing to do. The kids played on the playground some more, and then we headed back down to get them to bed at a decent time.

We planned to get together with our friends Danny and Nici, but after spending half of the day with our kid's schedules not coming together I was beginning to wonder. Finally we made it work and we took the kids to the BYU waterfall.

Nicole and I had taken Andrew there a while ago, and we thought that Jacob would enjoy it as well. Well he certainly did. He was hard to keep up with. 
If I could bottle that boy's energy and sell it, I would be so wealthy. After playing at the waterfall for a while we decided to go get ice cream at the BYU Creamery. It was delicious as usual.

looks like you guys were super busy but had tons of fun!! We still need to make a trip up to the zoo before its too hot!!
