Today we decided to go to Disneyland's Early Morning Madness--you get to go into the park one hour before regular hours. So we woke up bright and early this morning, so we could be at Disneyland by 7am. We decided to head straight to Fantasyland because there were several rides there that we hadn't ridden yet. First we went on Alice in Wonderland. The kids liked the ride and Andrew pointed out all of the different characters he knows from the movie.
Next we went on one of Nicole's favorite rides, the Mad Tea Party.
(Just kidding, not this Mad Tea Party.)I wanted to go on it with Nicole and the kids, but I don't do spinny rides. So Nicole agreed that we could not spin the teacup.
Then she went on it again by herself, so she could go for the full effect.
Next we went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
And after that we went over to King Arthur's Carousel. Andrew was very excited to ride a horse,
and Rory was too until she actually got on the horse.
For some reason she freaked out and started crying. It only took her about a minute after the ride started to put a smile back on her face. Then she loved going up and down on her horsey.
After we rode on King Arthur's Carousel, we tried to become King Arthur by pulling the sword from the stone.
We then grabbed a little bit of pixie dust, hopped onto the Jolley Roger and went on Peter Pan's Flight.
We then walked through Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and ended up in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo-tique. Walking around we have seen little girls completely decked out as princesses with the dress, make-up, hair-do, and accessories. So we asked one lady where they had it done and she told us at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo-tique. Then we asked her how much it cost. She told us for the whole package it was about $230. WOW! We didn't turn Rory into a princess, but she did try on Cinderella dress (she wants to be Cinderella for Halloween).
We wanted to get over to California Adventure when they opened so we could get fast passes for World of Color. But we still had a little bit of time before we needed to get over there. So we asked the kids what ride they wanted to go on. They decided that they wanted to go on Small World again. This time through I took pitures of all of the characters from Disney movies. Here are some of the favorites.
Andrew wanted to take a picture of the blue cow,
and Rory wanted to take a picture of the panda.
They both love taking pictures.All of the shrubbery around Small World is shaped like animals. When Andrew saw the dolphins, he had to take a picture with them. He loves dolphins!
When we got done with Small World, we made our way over to California Adventures. The way the World of Color show works is you get a fast pass in the morning for one of two night time showings at 9:00 or 10:15pm. They do this because the viewing area has an occupancy limit. We wanted to get fast passes for the earlier show so we could get the kids to bed at a fairly decent hour. We got the passes and headed over to Paradise Pier to ride the Mickey's Fun Wheel.
You have the option to pick the type of car you want to ride on Mickey's Fun Wheel. They have stationary cars or swinging cars. When Nicole and I went on this ride 5 years ago we went on the swinging car and Nicole kinda freaked out. So she asked the kids which one they wanted to go on, and they said the swinging car. So being the great Mom that she is, she sucked it up and went on the swinging car again. She did okay, but she almost broke my hand squeezing it. The kids had a lot of fun swinging on the feris wheel. Andrew wanted to go on the Jumping Jellyfish, but when they measured him he was too short. It was wierd because when they measured him for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad yesterday (which had the same height limit) he was just barely tall enough. Whatever! We then walked towards Bug's Land and on the way there we saw the new Car's Land (set to open in 2012). While we were there we took pictures with Mater and McQueen.
On the way into Bugs Land we saw Pluto and took pictures with him.
Bugs Land is pretty cool. It really makes you feel small like a bug. We rode on Heimlich. He was a "little chew-chew train." He rides through a bunch of food and it actually smells like what it is: Watermelon, Circus Animal Cookies, Candy Corn, etc.
Next we rode on Tuck n' Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies.
And then on Francis' Ladybug Boogie.
That one was essentially a small version of the teacups, so I didn't go on it. And Rory did not like it. She was crying and throwing a fit. Andrew looks like he is having fun though. Nicole said that it was not smooth at all and it was very jerky. So not a favorite. Next we went on Flik's Flyers. We rode in a Chinese take-out carton.
After that Rory said that she wanted to play at Princess Dot's Puddle Pad, but when Nicole took her over there she did not want to do it. And that was the end to Bug's Land. Next we were going to go see Disney Junior Live on Stage, but on the way there we saw Chip & Dale and stopped to take pictures with them. The kids didn't want to, so Nicole and I took pictures with them.
Then we caught the tail end of the Pixar Pals, so I snapped a few pics of Monsters Inc. (even though we didn't stop to watch the show).
We also saw Stitch and Handy Manny on the way to the show. I took a picture with Stitch
and Andrew took a picture with Handy Manny.
So we have to thank Meemaw and her cable television that the kids know anything about Disney Junior. They were so excited! Disney Junior consists of several really cute shows that the kids love: Mickey Mouse Club House, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins,
and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
The kids got all into the show, singing the songs, dancing around, popping bubbles, collecting gold dublooms, and just having a blast. After the show we decided to go back to the hotel to give the kids naps. But on the way we got side-tracked by a candy shoppe. Nicole got some turle candies and I got a ginormous rice krispy treat dipped in white chocolate. YUMMY! The kids took a really good nap today. They slept for more than three hours. We went back to California Adventure and Andrew had tennis shoes on this time. So we went back to Jumping Jellyfish, and he was tall enough this time. He was excited to go on it, but Rory was not very happy that she was too little. She was pretty upset.
Next we went on Toy Story Midway Mania. That was a pretty awesome ride. It is a 3-D arcade shooting ride.
I went with Andrew and Nicole went with Rory. It was so much fun and kind of a different ride. Andrew really liked it too, and wanted to go on it again. I probably would have if we hadn't just waited in line for nearly an hour. So we headed to King Triton's Carousel. Rory was not at all shy about going on another carousel. I tried to hold onto her back and she told me not to touch her--that she would do it herself. That's my independent little girl.

We then went over to ride Monsters Inc., Mike and Sulley To The Rescue.
Then we went on The Little Mermaid-Ariel's Under Sea Adventure. I was really looking forward to this ride--it looked really cool online. And it was a very cool ride!
After this we changed the kid's into their warmer clothes and went to watch the World of Color. It was a pretty cool show, but a lot like Fantasmic at Disneyland. Nicole said that she would have rather seen the Main Street Electrical Parade. The kids seemed to enjoy it, except that they kept getting wet.
After that Andrew and I went to Soarin' over California. Andrew loved this ride. He thought it was so cool going up inside a big TV and feeling like he was really flying over California. He especially liked when we flew over Disneyland. While we did that, Nicole did some shopping with Rory. Then we met up and bought a few souvenirs and headed back to the hotel. It was a fun, long day, and now I am going to bed.

I definitely need to go back to Disneyland. There is so much there that I never even knew existed. Looks like a ton of fun!!
