A Busy Easter Weekend

Easter is always a fun filled weekend for us, but to add to it this year there was also General Conference. We usually go to Park City during the Saturday sessions and then go to Todd's parents for the last session on Sunday, but since it was also Easter we didn't go to Park City. On Saturday morning we went to an Easter egg hunt at a local high school. There were a lot of kids there and it was a lot of fun. Andrew won and MP3 player, but I thought since he was only 2 he didn't need it so we traded it for a basket full of cheap airplane type toys. He did not mind that at all. Rory just tried to keep warm and she had a blast playing with the eggs we picked up.After that we put Rory to nap and listened to the first session of conference while filling plastic eggs and coloring with Andrew. We had made plans with our friends Danny and Nici that we would get together after the first session for an Easter egg hunt and lunch. We decided to take Rory's horse over there so she could ride it around and pick up eggs. It didn't quite work that way, but she still had fun.It was fun for the kids to get together, play, and eat pizza. During the second Saturday session we put the kids to nap and watched the session in quiet (or at least Todd did, I fell asleep). Afterwards we ran some errands quickly and then Todd went to priesthood session with his Dad and brother in law Michael. I put the kids to bed and started putting together their Easter Baskets. We had decided to hide Andrew's basket, but leave him clues to follow, so Todd made the clues and we got it all ready Saturday night.
When the kids woke up Sunday morning they noticed the baskets, but Andrew's was not there. He had fun trying to find it with the clues that were left. The kids also got another movie from Meemaw and we knew they would want to watch it so we had to finish it before conference started. We ate our cinnamon rolls quickly, had our daily scripture study and family prayer, and then we watched their new movie. They got Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure. It is a really cute movie. Then it was time for Rory's nap and the next session of conference. After that session we went to Todd's parents for another Easter egg hunt. The adults each hid one kid's eggs and a present. I hid Rory's and I kept them close to the cement so she could walk with her stroller. She was adorable picking up her eggs. Andrew was not very interested until he found a candy bunny which he had to eat right then. He was pretty excited about finding his present from Grandma also. After the kids found their eggs the adults had to find some hard boiled eggs that the kids hid inside. That was craziness! It was then time to watch the second Sunday session of conference and our kids' nap time. I was worried they wouldn't nap well not being in their own beds but they did great. It also made it nicer for the adults to listen to conference. Next was our lunch/dinner that Gayle put together. It was delicious. We were even able to play some games with everyone. It was a great Easter weekend!
